Maggie Grace, born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September the 21st of September 1983 in Worthington Ohio is an American actor. She is famous for her role as Shannon Rutherford and Kim Mills respectively in ABC's Lost television series. Her birthplace was Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents split up to move in Los Angeles to live with her mother. As she struggled financially, she was able to land her first acting gig as the title character in the video on-demand series Rachel's Room in 2001. After earning an Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal in Murder In Greenwich of 15 year young Martha Moxley as a murder victim, Grace went on to take home the award. Grace Rutherford played Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award (with the rest of the cast) with her. Grace was dropped from the series in 2005 to focus on the role of a greater part in films, having appeared alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in the film Taken. She starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. She reprised this role in Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). She also played Alice as Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is an updated interpretation of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace was back on the Lost series in the final two episodes playing Shannon. In 2013 she appears in the sixth episode of Californication. The actress plays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars that catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. As a part of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the younger sister to the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. In her teens her career began as a small part-time actress for her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her brother. Later, she was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her performances as the lead in Secretary (2002, erotic romantic drama), and Sherrybaby (606), both of which garnered her Golden Globe Award nods. The year 2006 was the time she starred in several commercially successful movies including World Trade Center. However, it was her role as Rachel Dawes that brought her more attention with The Dark Knight (2008). Her performance in Crazy Heart as a mother who has a child received her a nomination for the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In the following years she appeared in comedy as well as dramatic movies: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012. Some of her other characters include as a secret agent of The Secret Service in White House Down 2013 as well as a singer in Frank 2014 and also as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the main role. Gyllenhaal started her career as screenwriter and director in 2021, when she wrote and directed her psychological horror film The Lost Daughter. The film received the award for Best Screenplay in The Venice International Film Festival, and was later nominated by The Academy Award. Academy Award.
